 Pixar announces new Finding Nemo short film, Loving Dory  Pixar is returning to the “Finding Nemo” universe with a new short film titled “Loving Dory,” continuing the franchise after its two films grossed roughly $2 billion worldwide. The short was announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where Pixar also revealed plot details and screened early footage. Produced by Mary Alice Drumm and directed by Lou Hamou-Lhadj, the story follows Dory as she takes Nemo to school. On her way back, she becomes trapped in a sea anemone and is rescued by what she believes is a jellyfish, which is actually a plastic bag containing a discarded sunscreen tube. Dory then forms an unexpected friendship with the object, with the footage showing a series of whimsical, emotional moments between the pair.  SNL star Ego Nwodim shares the behind-the-scenes panic she felt when the studio audience broke decades of tradition by actually responding during her Miss Eggy Weekend Update segment. 

The seven-season veteran admits she was so thrown off, she wondered if the crowd could somehow see her cue cards. 


 What was supposed to be a scripted call-and-response became genuine improv when the audience yelled "Play!" and even got bleeped for shouting profanity. Nwodim's quick thinking and improv skills saved the moment, creating one of the season's most memorable sketches.
