 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  Telling Anambra people to Repaint their houses is utterly irresponsible, wicked, insensitive and sadistic‎----Mahdi Shehu

‎In a recent statement via his official X account, human rights activist and political commentator, Mahdi Shehu, has criticised Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State over a recent directive issued to residents.

‎

‎Governor Soludo had reportedly instructed homeowners in Anambra to repaint their houses or face government action.

‎

‎Reacting to the directive, Mahdi Shehu described the governor’s action as harsh and insensitive.

‎

"‎This is utterly irresponsible, wicked, insensitive and sadistic at the time of open hunger, declining economic activities, that when you are telling people to repaint their houses. Some of them have not been able to bury their dead relations for months because they have no means. This Soludo is real soludo,"

‎

‎Shehu expressed concern over the economic hardship faced by residents.‎He said many people in Anambra are struggling to survive and cannot afford basic needs.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
