 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  SOUTH AFRICA: Two Suspects Arrested for the Murder of Elderly Couple in North West


Two men, aged 41 and 29, have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of George Koster (69) and his wife Wilma (66) in the North West.

 The suspects were apprehended in Boitekong and Rustenburg on Tuesday evening, where police also seized a white Kia Rio and a suspected murder weapon. They are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on charges of murder.

Police Launch Manhunt After Elderly Couple Fatally Shot in Rustenburg


Police in Rustenburg have launched a manhunt following the brutal killing of an elderly couple in the parking lot of a shopping centre on the afternoon of Saturday, 14 June 2025.


Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple was fatally shot after a confrontation with the occupants of a white Kia Rio with no number plates. Paramedics declared both victims dead at the scene.


Police are appealing to members of the public who may have any information that could assist the investigation to contact Lt Col Mainganyo Nathaniël Phatsoane on 082 373 9571 or Lt Col Patrick Murunwa on 082 772 5999.
