Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive. YENI KUTI, AND PDP CHIEFTAIN, SEGUN SOWUNMI, ALMOST CLASHED ON NATIONAL TV TODAY JUNE 10.(VIDEO/PHOTO).

Media personality, Yeni Kuti, and PDP chieftain, Segun Sowunmi, almost clashed on national TV today June 10. Segun was a guest on TVC’s Your View, where he was being interviewed on his recent visit to President Tinubu.


Sowunmi shocked many over the weekend when he paid a visit to President Tinubu in his Lagos residence during the Sallah holiday. Sowunmi had been very critical of the Tinubu government and never missed an opportunity to express his reservation.


Many Nigerians felt that his recent visit is a preamble to defecting to the APC.


During his interview, Ms Kuti posed a question to Sowunmi, asking when he would be defecting.


‘’You had a lot of criticism for the President. Now you are tune seems to have changed. So when is your own move? When are you leaving PDP to APC’’ Ms. Yeni had asked


A visibly irritated Sowunmi left the presenters stunned by his response.


‘’Although I can’t see who is asking that question. I didn’t come to your programme so you can try to be cheeky with me. Stop that! 


Yeni immediately responded saying she cannot be cheeky with him because she knows she is older than him. When he finally found out that it was Ms Kuti that asked the question, he said ‘’Oh sister ooo! My Aunty! I take that back. Please do not be angry’’
