 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

YENI KUTI, AND PDP CHIEFTAIN, SEGUN SOWUNMI, ALMOST CLASHED ON NATIONAL TV TODAY JUNE 10.(VIDEO/PHOTO).

Media personality, Yeni Kuti, and PDP chieftain, Segun Sowunmi, almost clashed on national TV today June 10. Segun was a guest on TVC’s Your View, where he was being interviewed on his recent visit to President Tinubu.


Sowunmi shocked many over the weekend when he paid a visit to President Tinubu in his Lagos residence during the Sallah holiday. Sowunmi had been very critical of the Tinubu government and never missed an opportunity to express his reservation.


Many Nigerians felt that his recent visit is a preamble to defecting to the APC.


During his interview, Ms Kuti posed a question to Sowunmi, asking when he would be defecting.


‘’You had a lot of criticism for the President. Now you are tune seems to have changed. So when is your own move? When are you leaving PDP to APC’’ Ms. Yeni had asked


A visibly irritated Sowunmi left the presenters stunned by his response.


‘’Although I can’t see who is asking that question. I didn’t come to your programme so you can try to be cheeky with me. Stop that! 


Yeni immediately responded saying she cannot be cheeky with him because she knows she is older than him. When he finally found out that it was Ms Kuti that asked the question, he said ‘’Oh sister ooo! My Aunty! I take that back. Please do not be angry’’

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
