 SOLUDO APPOINTS DR. UWAEME AS NEW ASHIA EXECUTIVE SECRETARY By Chisom Okafor The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has appointed Dr. Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme as the new Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency. Dr. Uwaeme, who hails from Ogwuikpele in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state, is a medical doctor with over 22 years of experience in Medicine and Surgery. He is known for his strong background in both clinical practice and healthcare administration. The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime. According to the statement, Dr. Uwaeme’s experience and leadership are expected to support ongoing efforts to improve the state’s health insurance system and ensure more residents have access to affordable and quality healthcare services. The United States Department of State on Tuesday announced an update to its non-immigrant visa policy for Nigerians and other African citizens.

According to a statement by the US Embassy in Abuja on Tuesday, “most non-immigrant and non-diplomatic visas issued to citizens of Nigeria will be single-entry visas with a three-month validity period.”

The new visa restrictions take immediate effect.

However, the embassy clarified that “those US non-immigrant visas issued before July 8, 2025, will retain their status and validity.”
