A FLORIDA MAN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR THE 2019 KILLING OF A 15-YEAR-OLD BOY; A BOY WHO SACRIFICED HIS LIFE TO SAVE HIS LITTLE SISTER. (PHOTO).

A Florida man has been sentenced to death for the 2019 killing of a 15-year-old boy; a boy who sacrificed his life to save his little sister.

15-year-old Khyler Edman was home alone with his 5-year-old sister at his home in Port Charlotte, Florida on September 26th, 2019. While Khyler was babysitting, 27-year-old Ryan Clayton chose their home at random to invade.

Fearing for not only his own life but also that of his little sister, Khyler fought back with all he had against a much older armed intruder.

Khyler saw the blade immediately. He acted fast to gain control of the situation. Sadly, he would lose his life in the ensuing scuffle. However, his sister escaped the encounter completely unharmed.

Ryan Clayton would not leave the home unharmed. Khyler's bravery would ultimately lead to Clayton's arrest.

Deputies with Charlotte County Sheriff's office would receive a call of an injured man running through the neighborhood. Deputies would arrive on the scene and take Clayton into custody a short time later.  When Clayton was taken into custody, it was discovered he was suffering from multiple stab wounds. Yes, you read that right. This brave 15-year-old boy was able to do significant damage to a much older, larger and armed man. He fought hard to keep his baby sister safe. Sadly, his heroic actions cost him his life.

Now, this week in court, a judge has meted out ultimate justice in the senseless death.

A Florida judge handed down a death sentence for Ryan Cole after a jury convicted him of first-degree homicide and recommended the death penalty.

Ryan Cole will be placed on death row, and an automatic appeal will be brought before the Florida Supreme Court.

Rest in peace, Khyler. Our thoughts are with all of Khyler's loved ones.
