 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  ANAMBRA POLICE RECOVER TWO STOLEN VEHICLES IN OBOSI AND ASABA THROUGH INTELLIGENCE-LED OPERATIONS


The Anambra State Police Command, under the Ogidi Area Command, has recorded significant breakthroughs in its ongoing efforts to combat vehicle theft and armed robbery. Two stolen vehicles were successfully recovered on July 12, 2025, in separate intelligence-led operations.


Acting swiftly on the intelligence-led information, the Divisional Police Officer Obosi led a team of police operatives, in collaboration with local vigilante personnel, in a coordinated search and recovered an abandoned 2005 model Toyota RAV-4, red in colour, with registration number YAB 122 AZ (Abuja) at along Fresh Air Hotel Road, near Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Odume-Isiowulu, Obosi. The vehicle was reported snatched from the owner in the early hours of 11th July 2025 by three armed men in Oba.


In a related development, and furtherance of a prior case reported on 6th July 2025,  the Anambra State Police Command, working closely with the Delta State Police Command, has successfully recovered an abandoned school bus belonging to *SUSU College*. 


The Police Officers attached to the Isiowulu Police Division, who had been investigating the case, acted on credible intelligence received in the early hours of July 12, 2025. The vehicle was found abandoned opposite the Magistrate Court, Asaba, Delta State. 


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, *CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc minps Phd* commended the swift synergy between both Commands and reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation between sister security agencies in tackling crimes that transcend state boundaries.


Investigation into the circumstances surrounding the theft is ongoing, and efforts are intensified to apprehend the perpetrators.
