 UNACCEPTABLE – GOV. ALIA BLASTS MBALOM KILLINGS, ASSURES JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS  Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has condemned the latest attack on Mbalom community in Gwer East Local Government Area, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable, while assuring residents of intensified efforts to protect lives and property. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor reacted to reports of an assault by suspected armed herdsmen on the community, an incident that adds to recurring security concerns in parts of the state. Alia said the attack represents a direct threat to the peace and security of Benue, noting a disturbing pattern of what he described as calculated and selective assaults. He expressed sympathy to affected families and reiterated his administration’s resolve to confront criminal elements.  Anambra State Government Arrests Illegal Revenue Collectors In Nnewi


Anambra State Government has arrested some illegal revenue collectors who molest commercial motorcyclists, wheelbarrow pushers, hawkers among others at Okada White House Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area.


Parading the suspects, the Commander in charge of illegal revenue collection in Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS), Comrade Nathan Obikwelu said that the suspects were arrested collecting money from motorcycle operators, hawkers and wheelbarrow pushers which Governor Chukwuma Soludo has banned in the State.


Comrade Obikwelu made it clear that the suspects would be charged to court to serve as a deterrent to others, urging all illegal revenue collectors in the State to leave or face arrest and prosecution.


Two of the arrested suspects, messers Florence Agonye and Chioma Oluchukwu claimed that they are not aware that the Governor has banned the collection, and revealed that they are working for a man called Azuka Agbodike from Uruagu, Nnewi.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
