 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Another Osun Fed lawmaker dumps Adeleke, PDP


Member representing Ife Federal Constituency of Osun Taofeek Ajilesoro has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)

The Nation recalled that Ajilesoro was one of the party leaders who agreed to follow Governor Ademola Adeleke to any party.

But Adeleke on Tuesday said his defection plan into the All Progressives Congress(APC) was frustrated, urging supporters to stay in the PDP.

However, Ajilesoro dumped the party on Tuesday night notifying PDP party leaders in a letter dated July 22nd 2025 of Ilare Ward II, Ife Central Local Government, Osun State of his resignation from the party.

The letter, which was copied National Assembly, PDP National Working Committee and others reads: ”Please accept this letter as formal notification of my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party

(PDP), effective immediately.

“This decision, though difficult, has become necessary due to the persistent internal conflicts, deep-seated divisions, and the pervasive culture of legal disputes that have unfortunately come to characterise the party.”

A source hinted another Federal lawmaker may dump PDP on Wednesday.
