 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Another Osun Fed lawmaker dumps Adeleke, PDP


Member representing Ife Federal Constituency of Osun Taofeek Ajilesoro has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)

The Nation recalled that Ajilesoro was one of the party leaders who agreed to follow Governor Ademola Adeleke to any party.

But Adeleke on Tuesday said his defection plan into the All Progressives Congress(APC) was frustrated, urging supporters to stay in the PDP.

However, Ajilesoro dumped the party on Tuesday night notifying PDP party leaders in a letter dated July 22nd 2025 of Ilare Ward II, Ife Central Local Government, Osun State of his resignation from the party.

The letter, which was copied National Assembly, PDP National Working Committee and others reads: ”Please accept this letter as formal notification of my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party

(PDP), effective immediately.

“This decision, though difficult, has become necessary due to the persistent internal conflicts, deep-seated divisions, and the pervasive culture of legal disputes that have unfortunately come to characterise the party.”

A source hinted another Federal lawmaker may dump PDP on Wednesday.
