 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.   ARMED HERDSMEN BEHEAD FARMER IN BENUE COMMUNITY

Tension has once again gripped Ukpiam community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State following a brutal attack by suspected armed Fulani militias who reportedly beheaded a farmer, Mr. Gabriel Vandefan, in broad daylight.


According to a Facebook post by Mr. Ango Japhet T, the gruesome incident occurred this afternoon at Tse Aghem. 


The victim had gone to inspect his farm in the company of a woman when they were ambushed by the assailants. While the woman narrowly escaped with her life, Mr. Vandefan was not so fortunate, as he was reportedly slaughtered and decapitated on the spot.


The community is still reeling from a similar attack barely a week ago, when armed herdsmen allegedly invaded the same Ukpiam area at night, firing sporadically and injuring several residents as they fled into the bush.
