 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. AYO FAYOSE HAS BEEN CLEARED OF ALL MONEY LAUNDERING CHARGES FILED AGAINST HIM BY EFCC.(PHOTO).

 Former Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose has been cleared of all money laundering charges filed against him by EFCC.


A Federal High Court in Lagos has discharged and acquitted former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, of all charges in the long-running N2.2 billion money laundering case filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.


In a ruling delivered Tuesday morning, the court upheld Fayose’s no-case submission, declaring that the EFCC had failed to establish a prima facie case warranting him to enter a defence.


“The prosecution failed to link the defendant to the alleged crimes in a manner that warrants this court to call upon him to open his defence,” the court ruled.


Earlier in the proceedings, the court had also granted Fayose leave to travel abroad for medical treatment, following a separate application.
