Barça fans make feelings clear about signing Rashford as Man Utd star arrives

Marcus Rashford has been sidelined at Manchester United ever since his row with Ruben Amorim but is set to finally seal his exit route from Old Trafford as he prepares to seal a loan move to Barcelona

Barcelona fans have hailed the arrival of Marcus Rashford by creating a mural of the England winger ahead of his loan move from Manchester United.

Rashford has had to wait patiently for his next move after being excluded from United's first-team training sessions following his fallout with manager Ruben Amorim.

He is one of five unwanted United players who were given extra time to find new clubs before the start of pre-season training, along with Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.

And with Rashford forced to train on his own for weeks, he will be eager to finally clinch his long-awaited switch away after agreeing to link up with Barcelona on loan.

Rashford's private jet landed in the Catalan city on Sunday after Barcelona thrashed out terms with United that includes a £26million option to buy next summer.

Some excited Barcelona fans have already signalled their approval of his signing by painting a mural of the 27-year-old wearing the club's colours and performing his trademark celebration of pointing to his head.

Next to the mural was a message that read: "Benvingut Rashford!" which translates to "Welcome Rashford" in Catalan.

There were further positive thoughts about Rashford's arrival on social media, with some writing: "A loan player we can afford to fall in love with", and "United fans don't worry, your boy is safe with us."

Another said: "Anyone who respects our club deserves our respect," while a third added: "Barca will give him his status back."

But some were more pessimistic about the prospect of Rashford being a success at the Nou Camp as a post read: "He will flop." Other posts said: "He's way out of his depth," and "Does he get in the team in front of Yamal and Raphinha?"

It's understood Barcelona will cover Rashford's salary during the duration of his loan, but the player will take a 15 per cent pay cut on his usual £325,000-a-week wages.

Rashford will be hoping to continue his positive form from his loan spell at Aston Villa last season, which saw him score four and assist five.
