 NAF INTENSIFIES AIRPOWER CAMPAIGN, STRENGTHENS AIR PRESENCE IN SOKOTO TO DENY TERRORISTS FREEDOM OF ACTION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its airpower campaign against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West, with a strengthened air presence in Sokoto State to support ongoing joint security operations. The initiative reflects the Service’s determination to sustain pressure on hostile elements, enhance aerial surveillance and maintain the capacity for rapid response to emerging threats, while providing effective air support to ground forces operating within the Joint Operations Area. The strengthened air presence is particularly significant in the fight against asymmetric threats, where terrorists and bandits exploit difficult terrain, mobility and concealment to evade ground forces. Bechem United captain Francis Twene has alleged that his recent absence from the Ghana Premier League was the result of a spiritual attack orchestrated by some of his own teammates.


“I was told directly by some of them that I didn’t deserve to be captain and they would do everything to bring me down, even if it means using spiritual means,” Twene stated on Fakye TV in an interview.


According to him, the mysterious health issues he experienced were not physical but spiritual. 


“I went to my spiritual father for help, and after several prayer sessions and spiritual diagnoses, he confirmed that what I was going through was not physical—it was a spiritual attack. 


"He said it was juju, and it was from people close to me—specifically my teammates.”


Twene revealed that he spent two weeks undergoing intense spiritual healing at his church. 


“It was a tough two weeks. I was weak, in pain, and confused. But I thank God I survived. It could have ended my career,” he added.
