 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity. Bechem United captain Francis Twene has alleged that his recent absence from the Ghana Premier League was the result of a spiritual attack orchestrated by some of his own teammates.


“I was told directly by some of them that I didn’t deserve to be captain and they would do everything to bring me down, even if it means using spiritual means,” Twene stated on Fakye TV in an interview.


According to him, the mysterious health issues he experienced were not physical but spiritual. 


“I went to my spiritual father for help, and after several prayer sessions and spiritual diagnoses, he confirmed that what I was going through was not physical—it was a spiritual attack. 


"He said it was juju, and it was from people close to me—specifically my teammates.”


Twene revealed that he spent two weeks undergoing intense spiritual healing at his church. 


“It was a tough two weeks. I was weak, in pain, and confused. But I thank God I survived. It could have ended my career,” he added.
