 FIRST IMPORTED EBOLA CASE: NIGERIA EVACUATES INDEX CASE TO SWITZERLAND AS CONTAINMENT MEASURES CONTINUE The Nigeria’s confirmed Ebola index case has been medically evacuated from Abuja to Switzerland, following approval by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate. The forty-two-year-old patient, whose case marked Nigeria’s first imported Ebola virus disease case, was transferred alongside her spouse, who has remained asymptomatic. In a statement posted on his X handle, Professor Pate said the patient was clinically much improved, stable, conscious and able to communicate, with laboratory test results approaching baseline levels. However, the Minister cautioned that the patient’s clinical improvement does not necessarily mean she is no longer infectious, stressing that strict public health protocols remain in place.   Bishop Jonas Benson Escapes Death In Agulu


The Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Jonas Benson Okoye, escaped death after his vehicle was involved in an accident along Agulu Lake Road on their return from Ukpor to Agulu. Accompanying him were two of his priests.


The three men were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, and all are currently receiving treatment under medical supervision.


Confirming this in a statement shared via social media, the Catholic Treasure Facebook page expressed gratitude that no life was lost in the incident.
