 ABUJA EARTH TREMOR: MINISTER DELE ALAKE CALLS FOR CALM, DIRECTS AGENCY TO REPORT UPDATES The minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake has directed the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency to provide hourly updates of the seismic developments around Abuja to him for regular review and possible escalation to other relevant agencies, Urging residents of the Federal Capital to go about their normal routine without anxiety. In a statement by the Special Assistant on Media, Lara Owoeye-Wise, the minister assures that proactive measures have been deployed to ensure the safety of residents and property. The minor earth tremor was noticed on Tuesday, August 4th at 11am in the Federal Capital Territory by the Nigerian Geological survey Agency.

 Court Remands A Social Influencer Ghali Isma'il In Correctional Centres who fake claims That The President has died


A Chief magistrate court in Abuja has remanded a social media influencer, Ghali Isma'il,  in Keffi Correctional Centre for  posting  online videos purporting that President Bola Tinubu died as a result of a serous illness.


Department of State Services  operatives arrested Isma'il days after he posted the fake videos on the TikTok handle @bola_asiwaju.


Count one of the two-count charge, entitled "Publication of false news with intent to cause offence against public peace while 

Count two borders on  "Inciting Disaffection to the Government,"


After taking arguments by counsel to the DSS and counsel to the defendant, whose application for bail was denied,  the presiding judge, Ekpeyong Iyang, ordered Ismail to be remanded in Kuje correctional centre, while the mater was adjourned till August 19th 2025
