DIDDY FILES NEW BAIL MOTION. (PHOTO)

 Diddy files new bail motion

Diddy’s legal team has filed a new motion seeking bail ahead of his October 3 sentencing, arguing he is the only person in the country currently jailed for hiring male escorts to be with his girlfriend. The motion outlines reasons why he should be released before sentencing, pointing out that most people convicted on Mann Act charges—Diddy was found guilty on two counts—are typically granted bail.

His lawyers emphasize that the men involved were adult professionals and that the situation was part of a consensual swinger lifestyle shared between Diddy, his ex-girlfriend Cassie, and another woman. They argue society’s attitudes toward sex have evolved significantly since the Mann Act was enacted over a century ago. The defense also notes that Diddy himself did not have sexual contact with the escorts; only his partners did.

Although Diddy was cleared of more serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, he was denied bail immediately after the jury’s verdict. The judge cited concerns about Diddy’s violent past. In response, his defense team contends his only recent act of violence occurred in June 2024 and was provoked, pointing out he has largely been nonviolent since 2018, apart from that incident.

The bail proposal includes a $50 million bond secured by Diddy’s Florida estate, with three financially responsible co-signers. It requires him to reside in Miami, restricts his travel to specific districts in Florida and New York, and places him under supervision, including surrendering his passport. The motion also agrees to additional conditions such as home detention, mental health and substance abuse treatment, electronic monitoring, and private security. The judge has not yet ruled, and prosecutors have opposed bail before sentencing.
