 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration.  DR CONGO PAYS FC BARCELONA N71 BILLION FOR ADVERTS 


The Democratic Republic of Congo allegedly entered into a deal to pay FC Barcelona over ₦70.85 billion for a sponsorship deal that will promote tourism in the eastern African country.


According to the partnership, Congo will pay FC Barcelona €10 million to €11.5 million every year for four years for rights to advertize the African country on the club's jerseys, magazine, annual reports, websites, and advertising spaces.


The sponsorship will feature DR Congo as the "Heart of Africa" in terms of tourism and travel destination. It follows similar deals with AC Milan and AS Monaco at €14 million and €1.6 million respectively per season.
