 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  DSS, ARMY RESCUE CATHOLIC PRIEST KIDNAPPED IN MAIDUGURI


DSS operatives and military troops rescued a Catholic priest who was abducted by Boko Haram terrorists in Maiduguri, Bornu State, on June 1, 2025.


Reverend Father Alphonsus Afina and 10 women were kidnapped by the insurgents while travelling from Adamawa to Bornu State. 


The Catholic Bishop of Maiduguri Diocese and Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Borno State, Most Rev. John Bakeni, praised the DSS and military officers for their gallantry in rescuing the hostages. 


Reverend Father Afina served in the Archdiocese of Anchorage in Alaska in the United States from 2017 until 2024.
