 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. FG PLANS TO END FISH IMPORTATION IN ORDER TO SCALE UP DOMESTIC FISH PRODUCTION.(PHOTO).

 FG plans to end fish importation in order to scale up domestic fish production.


The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has announced plans to end Nigeria’s dependence on imported fish by strengthening local production through comprehensive reforms in the aquaculture and fisheries sector.


Oyetola made the announcement during a meeting with fisheries cooperative groups in Abuja, according to a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Dr. Bolaji Akinola.


“Nigeria must chart a new course towards self-sufficiency in fish production. The Federal Government is fully committed to supporting the fisheries and aquaculture subsector through policy, technical support, and financial inclusion.”


Oyetola also highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to empower women and youth in the sector, including the provision of start-up grants and other support initiatives..
