 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration.  FG to Adopt Private CBT Centres for NECO SSCE by 2026


The Federal Government will begin using private and public Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for school-based NECO SSCE exams by 2026.


 Education Minister, Dr. Tunji Alausa, announced this during the monitoring of NECO’s pilot CBT SSCE in Abuja, stating the shift will mirror JAMB’s exam model. He praised NECO’s readiness for full CBT transition and confirmed that all NECO and WAEC objective exams will go digital by November 2025, with full CBT adoption by 2026.
