 YOBE STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVES ENROLLMENT OF RETIREES INTO THE STATES HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT  Yobe state government has approved the enrollment of the state and local government retirees into the state  contributory  Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) social equity programme, marking a significant milestone in the state's effort to strengthen social protection and expand access to quality healthcare .  Gambia Confirms First Mpox Case, Declares Outbreak


The Gambia has declared an mpox outbreak after detecting its first case through routine surveillance. Authorities have launched contact tracing and community outreach.


The outbreak follows rising mpox cases across West Africa, with Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea reporting hundreds of infections. The virus subtype in The Gambia is currently being sequenced.
