 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements.  I don’t like being told what to do – Moliy on why she is still independent


Ghanaian musician Moliy says the biggest reason she’s remained independent is her strong dislike for being creatively controlled. 


For her, freedom to express herself without interference is non-negotiable.


“The most freeing part is just getting to do what I want creatively without someone telling me what to do. 


"I don’t like being told what to do,” she said in an interview with Revolt T, passionately defending her artistic space.


While she doesn’t rule out working with a record label in the future, Moliy stressed that it would have to be on her terms — a genuine and lasting relationship that respects her voice.


“I don’t just wanna be a name on a list. Music is very personal to me,” she added.


“So, I think if I did get locked in with a label, I hope it’s something that could be a real, long-lasting, organic relationship.”


She also highlighted the discipline required as an independent artist.


“If you’re not pushing yourself, if you’re not putting your foot on the gas, no one is gonna do it for you,” Moliy noted.
