 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  UZODIMMA RECONSTITUTES IMO STATE BOUNDARY COMMITTEE TO STRENGTHEN PEACE AND SECURITY 


Governor Hope Uzodimma has reconstituted the Imo State Boundary Committee, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sustainable peace, security, and socio-economic development in the state’s border communities.


The committee, now chaired by Deputy Governor Lady (Dr.) Chinyere Ekomaru, will work closely with the National Boundary Commission to address boundary-related issues, focusing on the accurate delineation and maintenance of Nigeria’s administrative maps, especially as they affect Imo State.


Governor Uzodimma emphasized that the initiative is vital to resolving territorial disputes and preventing conflicts that could arise from boundary misunderstandings. He expressed confidence that the committee would discharge its duties with diligence and objectivity, in the best interest of the state and the nation.
