 Man brutalises his pregnant wife in Anambra  In another case of domestic violence, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten by her husband in Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food.  According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home.  He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him.  She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales.  Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired.  GUNMEN REPORTEDLY ABDUCTED BENUE COMMUNITY YOUTH LEADER, RAYMOND NAGO ASEMA

In a troubling incident that has sparked widespread concern, a youth leader in Makurdi, Hon. Ambassador Raymond Nago Asema, was reportedly abducted from his residence by unidentified men in uniform believed to be operatives of the Nigeria Police.


The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:30 PM on Monday, was disclosed in a statement issued by Emmanuel Slimchild Shishim, Chief of Staff to the youth leader.


 According to the statement, Hon. Asema was trailed and forcefully taken away shortly after returning to his home. The men did not disclose their identities or reveal the destination to which the youth leader was being taken.


As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the Nigeria Police Force or any relevant security agency confirming or denying involvement in the incident.


The development has generated anxiety among the youth population in Benue State, many of whom view Hon. Asema as a strong voice for their interests.
