 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. ‎Veteran actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo has offered a candid explanation for joining the new opposition coalition centered around the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

‎Speaking in an interview shared on Symfoni TV, he said, that he is glad that some people that brought Tinubu to power are already acknowledging that they brought evil into Nigeria by putting Tinubu in power. He Cited a statement made by a former prominent APC member that brought Tinubu into power


 "The only reason I'm in this coalition is to remove the evil that I've brought to this nation."

‎Okonkwo described the coalition as a turning point in Nigeria’s political history, insisting it is built not on the pursuit of power but on the commitment to the welfare of Nigerians. He highlighted Article 3 of the ADC’s constitution, which pledges to create a society founded on peace, prosperity, and justice.

‎Okonkwo admitted that past mistakes had taught many politicians valuable lessons. He stressed that the new coalition was determined to enforce discipline, respect the rule of law, and restore hope to Nigerians

‎He concluded by urging citizens to support the coalition’s mission, framing it as an opportunity to correct the nation’s course and bring meaningful change.
