South Korean police seek arrest warrant for Hybe chairman Bang Si-Hyuk over alleged $100 million investor fraud scheme    South Korean police are seeking an arrest warrant for Bang Si-Hyuk, the billionaire music executive behind K-pop powerhouse Hybe and BTS, as part of an expanding investigation into allegations that he improperly benefited from an investor scheme involving more than $100 million. Authorities said they have asked prosecutors to pursue a court warrant for Bang’s arrest as they continue probing claims that he misled investors in 2019. Investigators allege he told investors that Hybe had no plans for an initial public offering, leading them to sell shares to a private equity fund. Man gets time served for attempt to open plane door and stab flight attendant in neck

A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to time served after spending just over two years in custody for a violent midair incident on a United Airlines flight, during which he tried to open an emergency exit door and later attempted to stab a flight attendant. Francisco Severo Torres, 35, pleaded guilty in May to a charge of interference and attempted interference with flight crew members and attendants by using a dangerous weapon. His sentence, handed down Tuesday, includes five years of supervised release during which he will not be allowed to fly commercially.

The incident took place on March 5, 2023, about 45 minutes before landing on a flight from Los Angeles to Boston. Authorities said Torres tampered with a door handle and disarmed the emergency slide lever before a flight attendant secured it and notified the captain. When confronted, Torres allegedly made threatening statements and soon afterward lunged at a flight attendant with a broken metal spoon, striking the neck area three times. Crew members and passengers subdued him until the plane landed safely in Boston. Investigators revealed that before the attack, Torres had asked another passenger about door handle locations on the safety card and had been pacing the galley. A federal grand jury indicted him in September 2023, leading to his plea and ultimate sentencing.
