 Nigerian makes US Most Wanted List over $1m fraud A Nigerian, Onoriode Ezewu, has been named on the United States Department of Labour’s first-ever Most Wanted List over allegations of money laundering involving fraudulent unemployment benefit claims worth more than $1m. The department’s Office of Inspector General unveiled the list on its website on Wednesday, naming 16 fugitives wanted in cases involving alleged fraud, identity theft, money laundering, labour trafficking and other offences. According to the agency, the cases collectively involve more than $55m allegedly stolen from American taxpayers.  NIGERIA HAS FAILED - OBASANJO 


Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said “Nigeria has disappointed Africa and the world”. He said the country has failed to rise up to the economic potential it is capable of.


The former military and civilian president made this assertion during a courtesy visit from the southern leadership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to his Ogun State residence.


Obasanjo said Nigeria would have been greater if its current leaders prioritized national cohesion over sectorial interests. “What we need is a true Nigerian leader who cares for the whole country, ” he stated.


The visit was by former Ogun State gubernatorial candidate, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo; NNPP National Deputy Chairman (South), Prince Nweze Onu; and NNPP’s South-West Vice-Chairman, Chief Ademola Ayoade, among others.
