 LAWMA Waste, Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement operatives on night duty have apprehended two environmental offenders along the Jibowu and Ojota corridors of Ikorodu Road for engaging in illegal waste collection and indiscriminate disposal of refuse at unauthorized locations. The suspects, were arrested during routine surveillance operations after being found carrying out activities that constitute environmental nuisance and undermine approved waste management processes, despite repeated warnings and sensitization efforts. The offenders are being transferred to the Oshodi Task Force Office for prosecution through the Mobile Court in accordance with the environmental protection laws of Lagos State. LAWMA reiterates that illegal waste collection and indiscriminate dumping remain punishable offences.  Nollywood Veteran Tom Njemanze Appeals for Financial Aid in Prostate Cancer Battle


Veteran Nollywood actor Tom Njemanze has made a heartfelt plea for financial support to fund urgent surgery as he battles prostate cancer. The actor, currently hospitalized, shared his appeal in a viral video circulating online on Tuesday.


Filmmaker Stanley Ontop posted the video on Instagram, urging the public to assist Njemanze, a beloved figure in Nigeria’s film industry. “One of our Nollywood legends is sick and needs urgent surgery,” Ontop said. “Sir Tom Njemanze has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and he needs your support to undergo surgery. Nothing is too small, fams. Help our legend live again.”


Njemanze is renowned for his roles in popular films such as Issakaba, Tokunboh, Atosa, Pounds and Dollars, Osuofia in London, Igbotic Love, and Brain Box. Fans and colleagues have begun rallying support for the actor, with calls for donations to help cover his medical expenses.
