 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  ‎Obidient Movement plans one-million-man march in Abia to mark Peter Obi at 64

‎

‎The Abia State chapter of the Obidient Movement has announced plans to hold a one-million-man solidarity march on July 19 in celebration of the 64th birthday of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

‎

‎In a joint statement released by Dr. Chibuzor Obiesili, a coordinator of the movement, and Mr. Christian Emmanuel, head of its media and publicity sub-committee, the group said the march will take place simultaneously in four major Abia locations: Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, and Uzuakoli.

‎

‎The event, scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m., will also feature visits to orphanages, hospitals, and correctional facilities across the state in what the organizers described as acts of empathy in honour of Obi’s values and legacy.

‎Okpara Square, Umuahia

‎Osisioma Flyover, Aba

‎Practising School, Uzuakoli, Bende
