 Alleged coup: Release our daddies, detained officers’ children protest at N’Assembly Scores of children and wives of military officers detained over an alleged coup plot on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest at the National Assembly, demanding a speedy trial and the release of the accused officials. The protesters gathered at the entrance of the National Assembly complex, moving in a slow procession while clutching placards with inscriptions such as “Don’t Kill Our Daddies,” “Detention Without Trial is Injustice,” and “Six Months of Torture: Enough Is Enough.”.  ‎Obidient Movement plans one-million-man march in Abia to mark Peter Obi at 64

‎The Abia State chapter of the Obidient Movement has announced plans to hold a one-million-man solidarity march on July 19 in celebration of the 64th birthday of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

‎In a joint statement released by Dr. Chibuzor Obiesili, a coordinator of the movement, and Mr. Christian Emmanuel, head of its media and publicity sub-committee, the group said the march will take place simultaneously in four major Abia locations: Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, and Uzuakoli.

‎The event, scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m., will also feature visits to orphanages, hospitals, and correctional facilities across the state in what the organizers described as acts of empathy in honour of Obi’s values and legacy.

‎Designated gathering points for the march include:

‎Okpara Square, Umuahia

‎Osisioma Flyover, Aba

‎Practising School, Uzuakoli, Bende

‎Ohafia Central Field, beside Union Bank, Elu Ohafia
