 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements.  ‎Obidient Movement plans one-million-man march in Abia to mark Peter Obi at 64

‎The Abia State chapter of the Obidient Movement has announced plans to hold a one-million-man solidarity march on July 19 in celebration of the 64th birthday of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

‎

‎In a joint statement released by Dr. Chibuzor Obiesili, a coordinator of the movement, and Mr. Christian Emmanuel, head of its media and publicity sub-committee, the group said the march will take place simultaneously in four major Abia locations: Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, and Uzuakoli.

‎

‎The event, scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m., will also feature visits to orphanages, hospitals, and correctional facilities across the state in what the organizers described as acts of empathy in honour of Obi’s values and legacy.

‎Designated gathering points for the march include:

‎Okpara Square, Umuahia

‎Osisioma Flyover, Aba

‎Practising School, Uzuakoli, Bende

‎Ohafia Central Field, beside Union Bank, Elu Ohafia
