 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  ‎Obidient Movement plans one-million-man march in Abia to mark Peter Obi at 64

‎The Abia State chapter of the Obidient Movement has announced plans to hold a one-million-man solidarity march on July 19 in celebration of the 64th birthday of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

‎In a joint statement released by Dr. Chibuzor Obiesili, a coordinator of the movement, and Mr. Christian Emmanuel, head of its media and publicity sub-committee, the group said the march will take place simultaneously in four major Abia locations: Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, and Uzuakoli.

‎The event, scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m., will also feature visits to orphanages, hospitals, and correctional facilities across the state in what the organizers described as acts of empathy in honour of Obi’s values and legacy.

‎Okpara Square, Umuahia

‎Osisioma Flyover, Aba

‎Practising School, Uzuakoli, Bende

‎Ohafia Central Field, beside Union Bank, Elu Ohafia
