 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration.  ‎Ohanaeze Ndigbo hails Tinubu for approving N150bn for South-East Investment Company.

‎The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has commended President Bola Tinubu, for approving the South-East Investment Company (SEIC), a subsidiary of the recently constituted South-East Development Commission (SEDC).

‎

‎The group also commended the Southeast National Assembly members that initiated the process leading to the approval.

‎

‎Ezechi Chukwu, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, made the commendation in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Enugu.

‎

‎According to him, there's no doubt that apart from the  finance generation potentials of SEIC, the initiative would serve as a viable stimulant for sustainable economic ventures in the zone.

‎

‎Chukwu said SEIC was aimed at driving regional industrialisation, mobilisation of private capital, promoting regional competitiveness and enhancement of industrialisation in the Southeast.
