 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements.  One dead, 10 injured in Atlanta mass shooting

Police are investigating a mass shooting in Atlanta that left one man dead and 10 others injured on Monday.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said during a press conference that around 1:27 a.m. EDT, three men and one woman opened fire on a crowd in the 300 block of Edgewood Avenue in the city’s Sweet Auburn neighborhood. A 27-year-old man, Santos J. Wyatt, was killed, and an 18-year-old male remains in critical condition. Most of the victims, ranging from 18 to 29 years old, are believed to have been caught in the crossfire rather than targeted directly. The suspects are still at large.

Authorities also confirmed that another person was fatally shot in the city over the weekend. In total, 29 people were shot across Atlanta in 12 separate incidents of gun violence. Additionally, police said one person was wounded in a separate shooting earlier the same evening during a dispute in a nearby parking lot.
