 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  PDP Announces 101st NEC Meeting for July 23-25, 2025


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has scheduled its 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to take place from Wednesday, July 23 to Friday, July 25, 2025, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja. The announcement was made in a statement signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, and shared on X on Tuesday.


According to the statement, the three-day meeting will commence daily at 2:00 pm and is in line with the party’s internal processes as outlined in Section 31(1) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017). A reminder has been issued to all NEC members to attend.


The meeting will see the participation of key party figures, including the National Chairman, serving and former Presidents and Vice Presidents of Nigeria (if party members), the Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT), and all other BoT members. Also invited are principal officers of the National Assembly who are PDP members, including up to 18 serving Senators and 24 House of Representatives members from across the country, all PDP governors, National Officers of the Party, state chairmen, six ex-officio members, and other former key officeholders who remain party members.


The PDP emphasized the importance of the gathering as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its organizational framework ahead of future political activities.
