 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration.  PETER OBI HAS SPECIAL PRIVILEGES IN ADC & LP - ADC


The ADC has revealed that Peter Obi does not have to formally resign from Labour Party yet to become a member of the new coalition party - unlike Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi that resigned from their former parties to align with the coalition.


ADC's interim National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said Obi enjoys a special privilege to retain his LP membership for now on account of his Obidients that are contesting for positions on the LP platform. 


The same goes for Mallam Nasir El-Rufai (SDP). 


"The understanding is that since their followers secured tickets in LP and SDP, they stay back until the processes are completed," Abdullahi said. "They will join fully after the elections."
