 Chad to abolish entry visas for all Africans from January 2027 Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno announced on Wednesday that Chad will abolish entry visas for all African nationals effective January 1, 2027, in a move aimed at strengthening African integration and facilitating the free movement of people and goods across the continent. “The Chad of Toumaï, cradle of humanity, opens its borders and abolishes entry visas for all Africans from January 1, 2027,” Deby said at the opening of the African Water Forum in N'Djamena, held in partnership with the World Bank, Anadolu Agency reported. The Chadian leader described the decision as a commitment to “African integration and the free movement of goods and people,” adding that Chad seeks to reinforce its position as a crossroads linking West, East, North and Central Africa.  Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to Resume Plenary Tuesday Despite Akpabio’s Appeal


Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has announced her intention to resume plenary sessions at the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, following a court ruling in her favor. The decision comes despite an appeal filed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio challenging the court’s verdict.


Speaking during an interview in her constituency on Saturday, July 19, 2025, while attending a training program for local constituents, Akpoti-Uduaghan confirmed she had formally notified the Senate of her planned return. “I have written to the Senate leadership to inform them of my intention to resume plenary on Tuesday, in line with the court’s decision,” she stated.


The senator’s return follows a legal battle that culminated in a court ruling affirming her right to resume her legislative duties. While details of the court case were not disclosed, the appeal by Senate President Akpabio indicates ongoing tensions regarding her status in the Senate.


Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed confidence in the judicial process and emphasized her commitment to serving her constituents. “My focus remains on representing the people of Kogi Central and contributing to national development through legislative work,” she said during the interview. She urged her supporters to remain calm and respect the legal process as the appeal is addressed.


The Senate leadership has yet to comment publicly on Akpoti-Uduaghan’s announcement or the status of Akpabio’s appeal. Observers note that her return could shift dynamics in the Senate, particularly on issues affecting Kogi Central and broader national policy debates.
