 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  SUPER EAGLES GOALKEEPER MADUKA OKOYE BANNED FOR BETTING IN ITALY 


Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has been banned for two months for illegal sports betting in Italy.


Okoye, who joined Italian Serie A side, Udinese, from English club Watford in 2023, was found guilty of betting fraud when he was given a yellow card for wasting time in a 2024 match between Udinese and Lazio.


Authorities later found that thousands of people had betted that Okoye would be given a yellow card at 8/1 odds, with more than €120,000 generated in winnings.


A June 2025 inquiry found the 25-year-old player guilty and he was handed a two-month ban. Analysts said he could have been given a four-year ban.


The ban will take effect from August 18, 2025, when Udinese faces Carrarese in the Coppa Italia, ruling Okoye out of six Serie A matches. He will be eligible to return on October 19.
