 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements.  TEACHER FOUND DEAD IN CLASSROOM AT KING'S COLLEGE, LAGOS

A 48-year-old teacher at King’s College, Lagos, Mr. Ezekiel Akano was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Saturday evening inside one of the school’s classrooms.


According to police sources, the school’s Vice Principal, Mr. Oguniyi Ayodele reported the incident to the Lagos State Police Command at approximately 7:40 p.m. He stated that he had been alerted to the discovery of Mr. Akano’s lifeless body within the school premises is located at No. 3 Catholic Mission Street, Lagos Island.


In response, a team of detectives was immediately deployed to the scene. The area was cordoned off, and investigators conducted a thorough examination. Photographs were taken, and preliminary inspection revealed no visible signs of violence on the body.


Mr. Akano, a native of Oyo State, was later transported to the Lagos Island Hospital, Odan, where a medical officer confirmed him dead on arrival. His remains have since been deposited in the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.


The police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to uncover the cause of the teacher’s sudden death.
