🇳🇴 Daniel Daga Sentenced by Norwegian Court, Appeals Verdict Molde FK midfielder Daniel Daga has been sentenced to six months in prison by a Norwegian court after being found guilty of committing a sexual act without consent. The Nigerian midfielder joined Molde FK from Enyimba just a year ago as one of the promising young talents to move from the NPFL to Europe. However, Daga has appealed the ruling through his lawyer, meaning the decision is not yet legally final and the case will continue through the Norwegian judicial system. Molde FK have also confirmed that the midfielder will not be included in the club’s matchday squad until further notice while the legal process continues.

THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE NATIONAL BOUNDARY COMMISSION, SURV. ADAMU ADAJI, MOURNS THE PASSING OF FORMER PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, GCFR

Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn.

The Director-General of the National Boundary Commission, Surv. Adamu Adaji, joins the President, the Federal Government, and all well-meaning Nigerians in mourning the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who passed away in London on Sunday, 13th July 2025.

Describing the late President as a man of deep personal discipline, clarity of conviction, and austere commitment to national order, Surv. Adaji remarked that Nigeria has lost a towering figure whose life’s arc spanned decades of public service both in uniform and under democracy.

“President Buhari was not one for flamboyance or excessive speech. His strength lay in restraint, in principle, and in his ability to stand firm even when it was not politically convenient to do so,” the DG said.

President Buhari's contribution to the country’s cohesion, particularly during challenging periods in our national life, remains a reference point. From his stewardship during the military era to his democratically elected leadership in 2015 and 2019, he approached governance with a strong belief in duty, accountability, and the moral weight of leadership. His emphasis on restoring order to the public service, safeguarding national boundaries, and resisting the corrosion of corruption were defining hallmarks of his presidency.

While offering prayers for the repose of the late President’s soul, Surv. Adaji noted: “We ask Almighty Allah, the Most Merciful, to forgive his shortcomings, expand his grave, and admit him into Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah strengthen our mother, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, their children, and all who mourn him at this time.”

The Director-General also observed that the late President’s legacy of frugality, national discipline, and respect for Nigeria’s territorial integrity should serve as a mirror to those currently entrusted with the affairs of state.

“He was deeply conscious of Nigeria’s place in Africa and understood that national greatness requires sacrifice, not sentiment.” he stated.

Surv. Adaji concluded by praying that Allah (SWT) grant the family and the nation the strength to bear this loss with sabr (patience) and resolve, and called on Nigerians to honour the memory of the late statesman by renewing their commitment to justice, unity, and selfless service.
