 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. THIS IS AN ATTACK ON IGBOS, EDO STATE GOVERNOR WOULDN’T TRY THIS WITH A LEADER FROM HAUSA LAND OR A LEADER FROM YORUBA LAND AND I MEAN IT- KENNETH OKONKWO TACKLES GOV OKPEBHOLO OVER HIS WARNING TO PETER OBI. (PHOTO).


 This is an attack on Igbos, Edo state Governor wouldn’t try this with a leader from Hausa land or a leader from Yoruba land and I mean it- Kenneth Okonkwo tackles Gov Okpebholo over his warning to Peter Obi


Speaking in an interview with ARISE TV this morning, Kenneth Okonkwo was asked to react to the recent comments by Edo state governor, Monday Okpebholo on the person of Peter Obi. 


Recall that the governor had said that Obi should never come to the state without getting security clerance from him. According to him, the last time Obi was in the state three persons d!ed. 


Responding to the warning given to Obi by the Edo state governor , Kenneth Okonkwo stated that l he sees the governor’s comment as an attack on Igbos. According to him, the governor would not make such a remark to any leader from Hausa or Yoruba ethnic divide.


He also stated that he will not respond to the comments of the APC chairman in Edo state in which the chairman claimed that the governor was right in asking Obi not to visit the state without his permission. According to the Edo state APC chairman, the people of Edo state hate Obi and so he should not come to their state.


When asked to react to this comment by the Edo APC chairman, Okonkwo said;


‘’Sorry I don’t give credence to people like that because they are just seeking relevance. He is as inconsequential as his face looks’’
