The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  TikTok Deletes 3.6 Million Nigerian Videos Over Policy Violations


TikTok removed over 3.6 million videos in Nigeria between January and March 2025 for violating its Community Guidelines, a 50% rise from the previous quarter, according to its Q1 2025 Enforcement Report.


The platform said 98.4% of the videos were proactively detected, with 92.1% removed within 24 hours. It also banned over 42,000 LIVE rooms and disrupted 48,000 streams for similar violations.


TikTok stressed that most content remained positive, while announcing a new in-app helpline in Nigeria and appointing Dr. Olawale Ogunlana as its Digital Well-being Ambassador.
