 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  TINUBU APPOINTS AL-MAKURA AS NEW UBEC BOARD CHAIRMAN

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed a former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, as the new Chairman of the Governing Board for the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).


The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, made the announcement at the launch of the AFD-supported ICT Development Project in 10 selected Nigerian universities.


A businessman and politician, the new UBEC Board Chairman also represented Nasarawa South District in the 9th Nigerian Senate from 2019 to 2023.


UBEC is under the Federal Ministry of Education.


The former Governor has recently been endorsed by some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the North Central geopolitical zone for the vacant party’s National Chairmanship seat, following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje on health grounds.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
