Aisami was first arraigned on May 20, 2023, by the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a one count charge of criminal breach of trust of misappropriating  money through the fraudulent sale of Mercedes Benz C 200 Saloon with Chassis No. 328414 and Hyundai Country with Chassis No. 050914 worth N3.5m respectively.

The count reads: "That you, Ibrahim Aisami (a.k.a Ibrahim Mai Kaza) sometimes in January 2020 at Maiduguri, Borno State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, being entrusted with dominion over certain properties to wit; Mercedes Benz C 200 Saloon with Chassis No. 328414 and Reg. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him and counsel for the prosecution,  S.O Saka presented three witnesses and tendered several documents as exhibits.

Justice Kumaliya  found the defendant guilty and thereafter convicted and sentenced Aisami to a term of six months or a fine of N50,000 ( Fifty Thousand Naira only). The judge further ordered the convict to pay the balance of N2,000,000( Two Million Naira only)  to the petitioner or  serve an additional three years jail term.

Aisami's journey to the Correctional Centre started when a petitioner entrusted him with his vehicles and travelled to the Republic of Chad but to his dismay,  the convict sold the vehicles and diverted the money to his personal use.

In another development, Dan-koli was convicted and sentenced by Justice Kumaliya to ten years imprisonment.

Dankoli was re-arraigned on Monday, 28 July 2025 by the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the EFCC on a one -count amended charge bordering on misappropriation to the tune of N7,000,000.00 (Seven Million Naira only).
