BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED OVER FARMER-HERDER CLASH IN NINGI LGA THAT CLAIMED ONE LIFE Following the unfortunate farmer-herder clash at Guda Village in Ningi Local Government Area, the Command wishes to inform the public that four suspects have now been arrested in connection with the incident. On 23rd September, 2026 at about 0740hrs, three farmers from Guda Village went to their farms on Guda Hill and found cattle belonging to a herder grazing on and destroying their crops. They chased the cattle to the herders' settlement where an argument ensued and degenerated into a fight. In the process, the three farmers sustained injuries. Sadly, in retaliation, some youths from Guda Village mobilized and set ablaze houses at the herders settlement. Operatives from Ningi Division responded promptly, restored normalcy and evacuated the injured to General Hospital Ningi. UPDATE ON SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN AHOADA EAST ADMINISTRATOR ASSAULT


The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the public that the suspects, Mr. Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Mr. Aloni Olodi, Chief Of Staff (COS), respectively who were hitherto declared wanted on 6th. July, 2025 in connection with the alleged Criminal Conspiracy/Stealing/ Assault Occasioning Harm on the Ahoada East Sole Administrator, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor have presented themselves to the Rivers State Police Command at Moscow Road Port-Harcourt, today the 10th. of July, 2025 at about 1500hrs.


They were subsequently interviewed by the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command and his Management Team.

Following the preliminary interview, they were further handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, In-Charge of State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for further investigation.


The Police Command urges anyone with useful information that can assist in the ongoing investigation to come forward. The Commissioner of Police, noted that the public's cooperation and assistance are invaluable in ensuring that justice is served.


The Command remains committed to maintaining law and order in Rivers State and assures the public that the investigation will be thorough and transparent.
