 FG Reaffirms Commitment To Operationalize Sokoto Hajj Airport Ahead Of 2026 Pilgrimage The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development announced that the Sokoto State Hajj Airport is set to become operational ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. The Minister of Aviation and Eerospace Festus Keyamo reaffirmed this commitment during a meeting with Sokoto State Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu. Keyamo highlighted Sokoto's importance for Hajj operations and assured that relevant agencies are working to meet necessary infrastructure and operational requirements. He directed officials to identify and address potential bottlenecks. Governor Aliyu says the airport project is 90% completed and funded by the state government with five aircraft being acquired. He appealed for expedited approvals to operationalize the airport for the 2026 Hajj. The Ministry remains committed to enhancing aviation infrastructure under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. One more photo below...

 2027: Gov Bago declares himself Director-General of Tinubu’s re-election campaign


Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has declared himself the Director General of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Speaking in Minna, the state capital, on Tuesday, the governor also announced that the state would serve as the headquarters of the campaign.

He criticised some members of the ruling party who are agitating for a northern candidate ahead of the 2027 election, stressing that the North and South have an unwritten understanding on the power-sharing formula.

He said, “I’m now the self-imposed Director General of the Tinubu campaign for 2027, and Niger State is the campaign headquarters for Asiwaju 2027.

“We are Nigerians and we love Nigeria. There is an unwritten understanding in Nigeria for power to rotate between the North and the South. This has brought peace to this country.

“We completed the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari, and Asiwaju is just in his second year.”

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
