 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. A 9-YEAR-OLD ILLINOIS GIRL LOST HER LIFE AFTER BEING SWEPT UNDER A LOG JAM IN THE KASKASKIA RIVER.(PHOTO).

 A 9-year-old Illinois girl lost her life after being swept under a log jam in the Kaskaskia River.


This tragic incident unfolded at 2:30 p.m. on August 2nd when authorities in Fayette County received a call regarding a 9-year-old girl drowning in the Kaskaskia River near Wren Bridge. 


As first responders arrived on scene they were informed that the young girl had been swept under a large log jam in the river. 


Multiple agencies were dispatched to assist with the rescue and later recovery of the young girl but sadly by 3 a.m. Sunday morning, recovery efforts were called off. 


The search resumed the next morning at 8 a.m. and approximately 3 hours into their mission, recovery crews were able to locate and extricate the young girl from beneath the log jam. 


This is a truly heartbreaking outcome. Our thoughts are with the family of this young girl and also with the crews who tirelessly searched to bring a conclusion to this tragic situation.
