 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv.  Abia State Police Arrest Suspect, Recover Stolen Toyota Highlander SUV


The Abia State Police Command has arrested Emeka Chukwuma, a suspect from Umuchu, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, and recovered a stolen Toyota Highlander SUV with registration number BBR667RM.


In a statement issued late Thursday by DSP Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa, the command revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 2022. Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Scorpion Squad recovered the SUV on August 22, 2025, and apprehended Chukwuma in connection with the crime.


The police have contacted the complainant to verify the vehicle’s ownership and authenticity. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details surrounding the incident.
