 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways.  Adeleke to FG: Release Osun’s Withheld LG Funds


Governor Ademola Adeleke has renewed calls on the Federal Government to release Osun’s local government allocations, backing the Nigerian Bar Association’s report that described their seizure as unconstitutional.


He said the NBA’s findings vindicated his administration and confirmed the legitimacy of the February 2025 PDP council elections upheld by the Court of Appeal.


While Adeleke thanked stakeholders for their support, the Osun APC dismissed the NBA’s intervention as “needless.” Traditionalists also prayed for Adeleke’s victory in the dispute during the Isese Day Festival.
