Anambra Assembly Summons Lawmaker Over Fund Diversion Exposé

The Anambra State House of Assembly has summoned Ayamelum lawmaker Bernard Udemezue for revealing on social media how members allegedly divert constituency funds.

The House, acting on a motion by Hon. Tony Muobike, said Udemezue’s posts endangered lawmakers’ safety and tarnished the Assembly’s image.

Udemezue, a PDP member, admitted publishing details of his allowances, insisting it was part of his pledge of transparency to constituents. He accused colleagues of pocketing constituency funds meant for the people.

Speaker Somtochukwu Udeze referred the matter to the House Committee on Ethics, which will report next Tuesday.
