 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room.  Anambra Youths Okay "Agunaechemba's Continued Existence

The Anambra Youths under the auspices of ASATU has staged a peaceful rally against some politicians  calling for the disbandment of the"Agunaechemba' security outfit.


The group led by its State President, Comrade Ken Okoli held a peaceful rally making a  brief stop over at the Arroma junction  Awka  before terminating at the Anambra Light House Gate to press home their message of solidarity for the governor.


Addressing the youths,Comrade Okoli warned against the political utterances of some people who clamour for the disbandment of the group because of alleged excesses by some of its deposed security operatives.


According to him,as no structure is completely flawless,the tendency to record some flaws cannot be ruled out.


He made it abundantly clear that Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration will not condone any act of lawlessness ,hence the positive action he took in sacking the eight members of "Agunaechemba' who humiliated an NYSC female member serving in the state in Oba and his unrelentless efforts in ensuring that the matter is not swept under the carpet.


Comrade Okoli announced that the ASATU youths are solidly behind the governor who is determined to wipe out all forms of brigandage and unwholesome behaviors and is determined to move the state to enviable heights.


He acknowledged that the association is not in support of any form of rascality against any resident by any local security operative and is in support of any punishment meted out to such individuals.


The youth ASATU boss affirmed that the "Agunaechemba' security should remain given their high performance rate in reducing crimes and criminalities in the state.


On his part, the Chief of staff to the governor Mr.Ernest Ezeajugh acknowledged the success stories being recorded by the security outfit in combating crimes in the state but distanced himself from the act of lawlessness exhibited by the "Agunaechemba' eight.


The Chief of Staff commended the governor for his bold initiatives to engage the state to higher levels and called for redoubled unalloyed support for his purposeful administration.
