Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive.  BENUE: TRAGEDY STRUCK AGAIN IN GUMA LGA AS SUSPECTED FULANI HERDSMEN ATTACKS NGBAN VILLAGE 



Moments ago, the Council Chairman of Guma and Benue ALGON Chairman, Hon. Maurice Orwough visited the scene where fulani herdsmen kïllǝd two persons and tortured a lady who they kïdnæppǝd. 


The unfortunate scene happened today at Ngban, a settlement in between Daudu and Yelewata. The two vïctïms of of the sad incident are: Terkimbir Iorhen Igbawua and Mlumun Igbawua.


Hon. Orwough who rushed to the scene ordered security operatives to enforce full operations. He also took the tœrtured lady who regained freedom from her abductors to the hospital and she has been receiving treatment. 


The council chairman also directed the Local Government Security  Secretary to release funds for the burial of the victims slated for tomorrow. 


He assured the people that in no distance time, the crises would be a thing of the past, reiterated his promise to prioritize the security and safety of the people.


Hon. Orwough was accompanied to the scene by the Council Chairman of Ukum; Hon. Jonathan Modi, Council Chairman of Buruku; Hon. Raymond Zege and PSA to Benue Governor on Protocol and Wardrobe; Hon. Emmanuel Iorbee.
