 “We Don’t Want Violent Politics In Kaduna,” Group Tells Political Parties, Urges Them to Call Supporters To Order The Kaduna Peace Ambassadors Forum has called on political parties in Kaduna State to caution their supporters and prevent further violence following recent clashes involving members of major political parties in the state. The group said Kaduna had enjoyed relative peace for a long period and should not return to an era of violent politics. In a statement, the forum expressed concern that political disagreements and clashes in the past had sometimes escalated into religious conflicts, with consequences for communities across the state. It therefore called on security agencies to take appropriate measures to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the recent clashes, while strengthening preventive measures to avoid a recurrence.  Enugwu Ukwu Monarch Gives Notice Of Community's New Yam Festival

The Traditional Ruler of Enugwu Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpe has announced the 22nd of August 2025 as the fixed date for the celebration of the community's new yam festival also known as the "Onwa Asato'


In a press statement in his Enugwu Ukwu palace,Igwe Ekpe spoke of the imperatives of the celebration in celebrating the new yam and the performance of other rituals associated with the celebration.


According to the royal father,after the royal new yam celebration,the Enugwu Ukwu community will eat their own yam the following day 23rd of August followed by the Thanksgiving Mass celebration and Church Service on the 24th of August to give God the ultimate glory for the gift of the new yam.


He made reference to the"Ikpo ji' ceremony celebrated on the 19th day of July 2025 which featured the evacuation of all old tubers of Yam in the Nkwo market and their replacement with the new tubers of Yam.
